I do my very best to stay completely out of your way. I am ever attentive to where you are on the road. I see the dirty looks you give me when you have been inattentive in your driving and act as though somehow it is my fault.
Did you stay up too late last night, miss your coffee or breakfast this morning, or have an argument with your spouse or child? Where is all that anger coming from? And…WHY are you taking it out on me?? I’m simply trying to make myself healthier, and I love being out in the early mornings. In the heart of the summer I was able to avoid you, it was daylight earlier and I was out of your way by the time you left your house. I don’t have that luxury now as it is no longer light at 6:15am, to my dismay, and obviously yours, I can’t leave until 7:15 or so and that really cramps your style.
Now that I’ve vented a bit, I want to ask you a very serious question. How are you going to feel if you actually run over me, cripple me or even kill me? Are you willing to carry that burden around for the rest of your life? And if you injure/kill me and it’s because you were fiddling around with your radio or texting on your cell phone, or trying to eat and drive, or whatever it is that causes you to act like your car can drive itself; are you willing to spend the rest of your life in prison for negligent homicide?
I have a husband, a mother, siblings, kids and grandkids that would like to have me around for a while longer, and I’m pretty sure your family would like to keep you around a lot longer as well. That goes for you teens on your way to school too. Some of you act like I’m a character in a video game and your goal is to get as close to me as you can without actually hitting me and then you drive by me with that self-satisfied smug look on your face. Like you just scored and racked up some big points.
For all of you, just so you know I always say a prayer for you. I ask God to let you have a better day because obviously your conduct shows me that you are having an awful day! I ask him to get you where you are going…safely, and then, when I get back home, I always thank him for keeping me safe.
Oh, and one more thing. Why is it that you take zero pride in where you live? I am saddened and appalled at the amount of litter I encounter every day. Are you really that LAZY? Would it be so difficult or inconvenient for you to carry around a small bag to put your litter in? Is this how you act in your home? Do you drop your cups, papers, food containers, wrappers and all other debris on your floor when you are ready to dispose of it? Please, show some consideration and responsibility.
