Good thoughts. I like your devotional blogs, Janice. I remember reading a book, "Tracks of a Fellow Struggler" many years ago ... written by a Baptist (at the time ... he changed to some other church later in life) preacher. It was a short book of four chapters. One was when they learned their little daughter had cancer. Chapter Two was when she went into remission. Three was when the cancer returned ... with a vengeance. Chapter Four was written shortly after her funeral. In one of those chapters he talked about the passage you used from Isaiah in a way I'd never heard. He said we all want the promise of soaring like eagles. In reality, there are some days we do soar. But there are many more days we only run without growing weary. And then there are those days ... far too many of them ... when the very best we can do is simply put one foot ahead of the other and walk, or at best, limp, and not grow faint.

I think he has the correct interpretation of the verse. It's not always a promise to soar like eagles!

I immediately thought of the words of this song:

My life is in You, Lord
My strength is in You, Lord
My hope is in You, Lord
In You, it's in You
My life is in You, Lord
My strength is in You, Lord
My hope is in You, Lord
In You, it's in You

I will praise You with all of my life
I will praise You with all of my strength
With all of my life
With all of my strength
All of my hope is in You

My life is in You, Lord
My strength is in You, Lord
My hope is in You, Lord
In You, it's in You

My life is in You, Lord
My strength is in You, Lord
My hope is in You, Lord
In You, it's in You
In You, it is in You!
Beautiful song and beautiful words!
