Gold there is, and rubies in abundance, but lips that speak knowledge are a rare jewel. Proverbs 20:15

Good blog, Janice. According to Barna (I think ... I've been out of the field for a few years), the stats on sexual immorality among non-believers and believers are almost identical. Sad commentary.

"1 Cor 6:18-20 Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body. Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body."

Do you know, this is the first ime I think I ever noticed this passage is basically talking about sexual immorality? I've always applied it to doing harm to your body by smoking, drinking, unhealthy habits, etc. But, boy, does your blog today hit home. As a Christian who has been single my entire life, maintaining a pure mind and body has been a struggle. Even now, at age 60, this is an issue. There are authors I do not read anymore (Danielle Steel and others) whose writings I enjoy but who get very graphic sometimes. And it has been a long time since we've been to a movie for the same reasons. I appreciate your honesty, as always, and I'm right there with you. I learned a few things and grew a little and now I just have to work on the mind.
