Have you thought about what the blood of Christ has done for you lately?
It really is amazing, humbling and something to keep in the forefront of our minds each day.
We have been studying from the book of Hebrews on Wednesday evenings and it is a great book to study. I was so intrigued by part of last night’s discussion that I wanted to write about it today, as a reminder of the love of our Savior.
References to the blood of Christ remind us of the sacrificial death of Jesus on the cross.
God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood. He did this to demonstrate his justice, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished— he did it to demonstrate his justice at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus. Rom 3:25-26
Is not the cup of thanksgiving for which we give thanks a participation in the blood of Christ? 1 Cor 10:16
In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding. Eph 1:7-8
But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ. Eph 2:13
For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross. Col 1:19-20
How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God! Heb 9:14
In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. Heb 9:22
For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. 1 Peter 1:18-20
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. 1 John 1:7
To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father — to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen. Rev 1:5-6
I am overwhelmed by the deep love of Jesus.
